About The Wrekin Housing Trust

The Wrekin Housing Trust is one of the largest social housing providers/housing associations in the West Midlands with almost 12,000 homes for rent (and low cost home ownership) across Shropshire and Staffordshire.

It was established in 1999 when over 13,000 homes were transferred from Telford & Wrekin Council, the country's largest transfer of homes at that time. Our portfolio of homes is growing through new developments across Shropshire and Staffordshire and includes everything from apartments in well-established residential areas to town houses and family homes in both rural and town locations.

Working in partnership with Newcastle-under-Lyme's Choices Housing Association, we also provide registered care homes, domiciliary care and housing related support for a range of clients with differing levels of care and support needs. Our flagship scheme at Parkwood in Woodside, Telford provides 54 one and two bedroom apartments offering residents a high level of comfort and care.

Our customers are served by a network of local and accessible shops and offices in convenient high street and neighbourhood locations throughout Telford, and in Shrewsbury and Stafford.

All of our homes benefit from a full repairs and maintenance service. Our award winning maintenance teams and our in-house gas team cover all areas and we work in partnership with a growing number of housing providers to provide maintenance services. We have developed the hugely successful Hand-e-Work system, a software application designed for maintenance repair operatives, which we have sold to a growing number of organisations.

We work in partnership with our residents and service users, involving them in decisions about our operations, management and services and asking them for their opinions and feedback. This enables us to continuously improve performance and make sure that the Trust and Choices keep providing tenants and service users with a high quality service.
